Christmas Time (I know it's really late!)

We were again in Utah for Christmas, but on top of spending time with my family, Kenny's mom came down on Christmas Eve. She was going on vacation with us, but more on that later. We planned on spending the 1st part of Christmas Eve with just our little family and then going to my parents house for our traditions of pajamas, singing songs and reading the Christmas story out of Luke, but our little monkey had other plans and feel asleep about 8:30. That left Kenny, his mom and I to watch a little t.v. and "assist" Santa with his gifts.

We thought that with Kels falling asleep so early she would be up early, nope the adults were all awake almost 30 min before her, she didn't get up until 8:30. I was just about to go wake her up so she could open her presents and we could get to my parents house in time for breakfast at 10. Once again we were all spoiled, thanks to my wonderful husband. Kels got her very own snowboard, some stuff for her DS that she got from her mom, perfume, purse and some odds and ends stuff. Kenny does such a good job at buying gifts, he got me a new purse (giraffe print) and matching wallet, shoes, and some new skull candy headphones for my ipod. Kels and I got Kenny a new Invicata watch that he had been looking at for the last few months, he was really excited. Kenny's mom didn't get her gift yet because it had to do with somewhere we were going on vacation and we wanted it to be a surprise. Then it was off to my parents house for our traditional Christmas morning breakfast.

With my side of the family we all draw names for who we buy a Christmas gift for. This year Kels got my dad, Kenny got Mickelle and I had Brianne. Kels was so excited to get my dad, she knew exactly what to get him, BYU flags to put on his truck when he went to the game and she had to have it wrapped in BYU wrapping paper. Kenny and Mickelle have always liked to find ways to one up each other, well this year he decided that he would put her gift in a box, wrap that in duct tape (hot pink duct tape) and then wrap it in wrapping paper. Needless to say it was quite entertaining to watch her open her gift. I got Bri a new purse since she had been wanting a new one. We got spoiled by my family as well. Mickelle and lil' Kels and got her a new CTR ring and a gift card to the Disney store to use while we were in Disneyland. My mom had Kenny and got him a remote controlled helicopter (I have never seen him so excited and act like such a little boy) my mom did a great job on his gift. Bri had me and she got me a new scarf and a gift card to Einsteins, since I like to stop there on my way to work in the morning. My parents also got us all tickets to see the play Wicked in April. We are all so excited and can't wait until April.

Breakfast was as good a usual, my parents do such a good job cooking all the food. A few of my aunts, uncles and cousins came over to enjoy dinner as well (its a fun tradition). We hung out for a while and then headed home for some rest and relaxation before our trip.

It was a great Christmas, we got to spend a lot of time with family and remembering the real meaning of Christmas. It makes me realize how lucky I am and I am thankful for having a wonderful husband, daughter and family.
